This is one of my favorite pieces of yours. And I think you hit a nerve. Is that what this age is for, returning to who we wanted to be when we were 15? Hope so!
Ohhh thank you so much! I kind of want to write a post after asking people what their alter ego dream selves are and have they merged with them or not and if not what is holding them back?!
I will tell you that I am giving up corporate life (after a very long search for my next position with 6 trips to the final round without getting any offers) and re-launching a career coaching and writing biz I had as a side hustle up until a decade ago. (If you know anyone who needs a resume, LI profile makeover, interview coaching, etc., send em my way.
I am also finishing a comedic mystery novel manuscript and will be querying later this year.
So I am full-time working for myself and, other than some coaching, I will am a full time writer. Huzzah!
This so crazy cause I’ve wanted to write about alter egos too. I use them all the time. Whenever anything is hard for me to do I just invent an alter ego who will do it for me.
Cool! I’d love to read what you have to say about alter egos. It’s helpful to create this other person I can dream up all sorts of outlandish things and then jump into that persons body like what was that movie where he walks into all the other bodies?
😆 Do you mean Mickey-17? There’s probably been a dozen movies made like that. Maybe I’m more boring than you, but I kind of just do it for practical reasons. Like when I’m promoting myself sometimes I think of myself is Theo van Gogh working for his brother Vincent.
Ahh yeah. One of those. It’s like the mind body Conundrum. So fun to play with in fiction or movies. Where does the body begin and the mind end? But see Mickey 17 if you get a chance.
You are def moving into that alter ego- I’m seeing it !!! Thanks for the inspiration to explore mine!!!
Yay! Here’s to alter egos!

Very cool!!
Also when I was 15 I didn’t have the vision or the self knowledge or the courage to step into who I was

Hahah. I’m sure you’re not boring. I’m thinking of some sort of terminator movie where they walked into people and incorporated into them

You are becoming that alter ego! Mine owns an antique / book store also lives up north.. and stays home drinking tea, reading with my at least 3 dogs
Ooooh. An antique bookstore. I’d totally be a patron. Sounds heavenly. And do able!
